May 8-Special Kalamazoo Edition

-If you did not go to Western Michigan University or never visited me or my cronies there, then this post probably ain't for you, so go look elsewhere. NOW! I said NOW!
-If you went to Central Michigan University, you wasted 4-7 years of your life and probably a whole bunch of money.
-I spent an afternoon in Kalamazoo last week for work, so I took a driving tour and snapped a few pictures with my cell phone. There's something for everyone...even Jackie!

Pictured above is the best house I ever lived in. 1240 Forbes. For 2 years, Brick, Jackie and E called this place home. We were also robbed. I love that house.

Next we take you to Grove St. Holy shit, what a hole. It also came with a hole in the inside/outside room. I am amazed that it is still standing and that currently someone lives there. Wookie's Escort used to be permanently parked out front, used for "claming" and also as an outdoor urinal. E, Wookie, Mulder and Nitsuj lived for a year. God bless America, that place sucked soooooo much. It also smelled very bad.

This is an apartment located in the heart of the student ghetto on the corner of Vine and Locust, where Smalz, Annie and Melissa lived for a year. I hated this place. It was a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. For all three of them! Possibly WORSE than Grove Street. I said possibly...

The top level of this yellow building (421 Hilbert) is where Brick spent the last two years of his college days, binge drinking and crying. It is very close to Forbes St.

This parking lot right behind Martini's Pizza is where Smalz and Melissa lived for a few years. No, they did not live in the parking lot (however, that would be funny). The house that used to be there burnt down a few years ago. I used to do my laundry there. It is located at the corner of Village St. and Westnedge.

Right around the corner from that parking lot is the famed 4th Coast Cafe. It is a coffee house that was frequented by many of mi amigos (ESP) back in the day. They have some fantastic cinnamon scones.

Last, and least of all is Godfathers Pizza (Gafa's). This is where Jackie used to work as a delivery jerk. She used to bring home pizzas. I once saw E eat an entire XL thin crust pizza in one sitting. We were egging him on "get mad at it!!" And he did get mad at it, yes he did, very mad. Their pizza made me sick more than one time.

May 7-Camille's Champs Dominate Chicago MS Walk

You may remember me mentioning the MS Walk, well the day finally came on Sunday. Our team was 4th(?) in the city of Chicago with just under $13,000 raised. Holy Guacamole!!! All of the dough was raised for a great cause and a great time was had by all. Here are the highlights:
-It was a bit cool down on the lakeshore for the walk.
-We met some really nice people, including Tracy and Nate (pictured below).
-We went to a Jewish deli afterword named 11 (how trendy). Had a ro-beef sammish.
-GB makes her friends look at this blog to see how cute ERB is. Get yer own baby/blog Gina!
-ERB wore sunglasses and some old lady wanted to take her picture. I should have charged her.
-The Notters came to Phiul & Gina on Saturday to watch the Derby. GB won $45.
-We also watched the Pistons DISMANTLE the lowly Bulls.

-SHOUT OUT to PBGB for hosting us at their house and feeding us over $150 worth of steak. It had string on it.

-Also, Tracy is friends with David Aardsema. Carlos Guillen touched him up for a homer a few weeks back. Take THAT Sox fans!

May 3-More Random

-This yellow piece of plastic is one of Emmys favorite toys

-We won our first softball game

-Pistons in 5

-Ray and Linda are in Louisville for the derby

-Strawberry and Bannana taste delicious together

-Tomorrow is Friday

-I got gas at Costco today

May 1-Rolling Over

Apr 29- Twinkies vs. Tigs

Spicoli (Chris) and Brick went down to Comerica to take in the Tigers game. Santana pitched for the stupid Twinkies. Maggs went deep, Thames went deep and of course Inge with a walk off to win it in the 9th. What a way to end a great game. Great day at the park!! See pics below for more details:

Kenny Rogers is back with the club. It was great to see him. That guy is a legend.

That guy in the dugout is Calvin Johnson, Lions #1 draft pick. He threw out the first pitch. He got quite an ovation. Welcome to D-Town Calvin! Get used to losing and being a part of a horrible organization, and being frustrated with yer quarterback, and listening to Matt Millen be a moran etc...
At least he got to see a good game.
I can't wait for football season to start.

No, my compu is still not functioning properly. And no, this is not about ERB. I woke this morning to find that the great Kurt Vonnegut has passed on. He is the only novelist I ever considered myself a "fan" of. I read several of his books in my college days: Slaughterhouse 5, Sirens of Titan, Blue Beard, Cat's Cradle, Mother Night, Breakfast of Champions, Galapagos and the list goes on...

Anyway, just wanted to share my feelings about this truly great artist. Today I feel like E is going to feel when Max Roach* passes on.

Apr 4-Still Having Issues etc.

I am still having computer issues. Phiul will be stopping by this weekend, hopefully, he will be able to fix it. Still have some Spring Training pix, Opening Day and of course lots of ERB pix to share.

Also, Happy belated Birfday to Ray!! Ray and I spent his birfday (Apr 2) in downtown D-Town soaking up the sun in the upper deck of Comerica Park for Opening Day. Sux that the Tigers lost, but thats ok. Thanks for the ticket Ray, and Happy Birfday again!!
