Phiul and I took oodles of pictures during the trip. There will be multiple Spring Training posts, so stay tuned for plenty more action from Lakeland. (I think if you click the pictures you can see them larger.)

On Friday, the first stop was an uneventful round of golf at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Lakeland. Then it was on to Tampa to see the Yankees vs. Devil Rays. Phiul's "life coach" hooked us up with some sweet tickets. Cost unknown.

This picture of A-rod will give you an idea of where we were sitting. Very nice!

Legends Field has all the same monuments as Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Here is a pic of Babe Ruth's.

Here is beautiful Joker Marchant Stadium. The Tigers have been playing there for 70 years.

This is Curtis Granderson giving an interview. He seems like a real nice guy. More from him in later posts.

This is Jim Leyland with his hands in his pants, speaking to Terry Francona before the bean-ball, I mean baseball game. He does not like me very much. The feeling is mutual. Our seats for this game were directly behind the Boston dugout. Many thanks to Fast Eddie.

This is a pic of Gary Sheffield about to get hit in the ribs with a Josh Beckett fastball. Down the right field line you will see the Tigers offices and clubhouse.

Here is Magglio Ordonez lying face down in the dirt after getting hit in the head by a Josh Beckett fastball. Jim Leyland and Carlos Guillen look on. I missed all of the yelling and ejections, as I was using the facilities. Also, Maggs was taken to a local hospital, he will be fine. Later on in the game, Brandon Inge almost took a Beckett fastball off the head. I can't wait until May when we play the Sox for real.

Here is a picture of Phiul and Captain Tall Hat. CTH is enjoying a cold Coca-Cola. Mmmmm...
